Thinking about thinking
I’m interested in a little feedback from the blogaudience, so please indulge me, read on, and perhaps give me some feedback in the comments below.
I find that my “best” thinking often happens late at night, in the moments before falling asleep. It’s during these times that my mind seems to be most active, thinking of new ideas, considering old ones, and devising challenges (like thinking through what it would be like to run a marathon).
Often, these ideas don’t stand the “test of sleep” - what seems brilliant in the moments before REM is often dismissed as simple dream thought the next day. But every so often ideas last and become the seeds of what I find are the most creative, challenging and inspiring actions in day to day life.
So my question is this - does your mind work similarly? Do you get your best moments of clarity late at night? Or do some find that mornings are the best? I’m interested in individual cognition patterns and whether my rhythms are similar or different that others I know.
If this bores you to tears, my apologies.
