Totally agree with tuneage’s take on this song.  Nothing special, but you find yourself singing along.

tuneage:

The Big Pink - “Dominos

The strength of this song hard to pin down. It’s definitely not in the songwriting. In fact, there’s little actual songwriting to speak of; the verses simply fill the space between repeats of the anthemic 5-word chorus. The drums and synths, arguably the real driver behind the song, aren’t anything game-changing and at times even feel quite familiar (“Time to Pretend”, anyone?). However, this song is a perfect example of something being greater than the sum of its parts. Expect to be singing the chorus after the first listen, and don’t be surprised when you start the song over immediately after it stops. Don’t worry, I can’t explain it either, I just know that I’ve played this song to death over the last few hours and I can’t seem to stop.

You’ll find “Dominos” on The Big Pink’s upcoming debut album A Brief History of Love, being released on 4AD on September 22.
