Improv Everywhere Subway Photos
Some loyal blog readers may remember the post from Memorial Day weekend when Eller was in town and we participated in the mp3 Experiment. Well, the group that put on the experiment, Improv Everywhere, also specializes in unique improv jokes/events throughout NYC. Their most recent stunt involved setting up a photo studio in a NYC subway car and asking random passengers if they’d like to get a Subway Yearbook photo.
A few things I love about this video:
- It’s on the 6 train, aka the train we take multiple times everyday (at one point you can hear “next stop, 86th street” which is one stop from our apartment).
- The blue dress shirt, rolled up sleeves, cheesy moustache - it’s the exact look that the Lifetouch photographers had when they came in to do annual school pictures
- I can’t believe how many passengers were excited and happy to get their photo taken. The end result is a great pictorial of the diversity of subway riders. And Improv Everywhere sent copies of the head shots to all participants via email.
Check out more about the event here - and thanks to Hannah for passing this along.
