One more Christmas Card
We are less than two weeks into parenthood and already we’ve been overwhelmed with the understanding of our blessing that little Miller came out healthy and strong. His health was something we prayed for often during the pregnancy, and we do not want to forget nor take for granted today how amazing it is that he is in perfect condition.
It’s a sad reality that there are many who are not as fortunate and every so often you hear a story about such a case which breaks your heart. My dad forwarded me a note about such a case - a 7-year old boy in Ohio who is battling brain cancer. The prognosis does not look promising for young Nathan Elfrink, and he has a simple wish for what may be his final Christmas - he would like folks to send him Christmas cards.
***UPDATE***
Nate’s story spread like wildfire throughout the Internet, and his family has requested that no more cards be sent, as they’ve been overwhelmed and can’t keep up. They ask instead that people would consider a donation to St. Judes to help kids in the future who battle a similar fight. (Thanks to Jackie for the tip!)
