Thoughts about emails that starts with "Check out this link"

This is exactly why I love tumblr so much.  I’ve tried blogging multiple times (and still have a proper blog that I update infrequently), but never found the perfect “voice”. But I still had a desire to share.  tumblr makes it easy to “have a voice”, but not feel compelled to meet some standard about what a “real” blog should be.

bijan:

How many times have you sent an email to a friend that started out with the words:

“Check out this link”

and then it’s a link to a photo, video, news article or maybe just something else interesting or funny.

Sending out that type of email is typical, happens every day. But it doesn’t belong in your email box in my view.

While personal publishing is growing like crazy these days, there are plenty of people are that uncomfortable blogging. I think it’s because they feel that to blog means they need to make a public opinion or write personal op-ed pieces each day. And they are uncomfortable with that notion. I dont’ blame them.

But if you send an email to your friends that say “Check out this link” (and I bet you do that a lot) than you should try out Tumblr.

You don’t have to write essays or opinions to use Tumblr.

You just need to have the desire to share things with your friends. That’s all.

There are so many cool things about Tumblr but at it’s core it’s the best & easiest way to share stuff with your friends about stuff you love or find interesting online.

Give it a try and let me know what you think.
