What we’ve learned (thus far) on Christmas vacation

  • When making plans with an infant, adjust your estimated time of arrival by 30 minutes, add 5 minutes for a last minute diaper change, then go ahead and give another five minute buffer (just in case).  This way you’ll be sure to only be 15 minutes late, rather than an hour.
  • Christmas with kids is so much fun.
  • Our nephew Jacob has taken in a lot of football knowledge this fall, and his commentary is to die for.  According to Jacob, the St. Louis Rams are “not a very good football team”, the Minnesota Vikings “seem like a good team but I’m not sure” and countless wide receivers have dropped seemingly catchable passes because “he didn’t SQUEEZE it tight enough.”  Hard to argue with these points - time to put him in the MNF booth with Tirico and Jaws.
  • Within approximately 8.9 seconds from the time we enter a house, one of Miller’s  grandparents will have him in their arms.
  • We’re so very thankful for grandparents who love us and our son so much.
  • Our niece Jensen is a big fan of babies in general and “Baby Miller” in particular.  She particularly likes to practice with her baby dolls on Baby Miller’s stuff.

    • It is possible for 19 out of shape guys who are approaching age 30 to play 2 hours of flag football without a serious injury (for the 3rd year in a row!)
    • It is possible for I19 out of shape guys who are approachin age 30 to be extremely sore the next day.
    • 51 degrees can feel balmy compared to 28 and windy
    • A lot can change in 3 weeks.  Here is our little man on his 3rd day of life.

And here he is today - filling out his frame for sure!
