NYC Soccer
One of the most exciting things about moving to NYC is all the culture the city has to offer. You know, live music, shows, the “spray-painted-silver-guy-acting-like-a-robot” at the subway. And then there’s all the big time sports - Yankees and Mets, Giants, Knicks (if you can call the Knicks big time right now)
Then there’s the best of both worlds – a charity soccer match in the middle of the city, played in a caged field with real life superstars. That’s what happened last week when Steve Nash invited some of his closest friends to play a free match for charity. Among the famous players – Nash, and NBA comrades Baron Davis, Jason Kidd, Leandro Barbosa, and Raja Bell. Soccer pros included Thierry Henry, Steve McMannaman, Robbie Fowler, Solomon Kalou, Gregg Berhalter, Juan Pablo Angel, and Jozy Altidore.
Great recap and pictures here. Would have been fun to see this in person.
