Sitting here in the hotel room in Cranbury, NJ, we’ve had some time to reflect on Moving Week: Day 4.  All in all, the driving was much easier than we expected.  Except for a bit of traffic in the DC/Baltimore area, it was pretty smooth sailing the whole way up.  Our Budget truck handled the roads beautifully (take that UHaul!), and we had plenty of quality time to chat and take in the scenery.

Speaking of scenery - once you get into New Jersey there’s not much to write home about.  In fact, the NJ Turnpike is pretty miserable.  A little heads up for everyone who told me to bring a bunch of quarters for the toll roads - no need - what you need to do is take out a loan.  These tolls, in the words of Randy Moss, are “straight cash homey” - like $4-$5 each.  And if you’re looking to find a little grub while on the Turnpike, make sure you’re a big fan of Sbarro, Nathan’s hot dogs, or Burger King - these are literally your only options.  As you can see below, we opted to wait until the hotel.

As the video shows, Tracy was able to book us a hotel room in Cranbury, NJ - though not without a little difficulty in “translating” her Southern slang.  Dad, I apologize for the heart attack you just had watching that video and knowing that I was filming it while driving (though you can see my eyes were always on the road).  And for those who can’t understand why Tracy keeps making reference to “rude” and “Welcome to KingBurger” - she is channeling her inner Bon Qui Qui

Today we drive into Manhattan.  Pray for us.  Seriously.
