And the Winner is…
in the category of “First person to come up to NYC and see the Mansfields twice”:
CAT WHITEHILL
Of course, I’d be lying if I made it sound like Cat made a special trip to NYC to see her dear friends again (though I’m sure she would!) She came to the city for more exciting reasons, as the new Women’s Professional Soccer league was launched in a star-studded ceremony Tuesday afternoon which featured NBA MVP Steve Nash as MC. To kick off the league, a number of the top US Women’s National team players were allocated to different teams. So Cat is now a proud member of the Washington (D.C.) Freedom. We’re so excited for her to be a) on the East Coast and b) a short train/bus ride away. The league is set to kick off Spring 2009. I know we have loyal members of the blogaudience in St. Louis, LA and beyond - so please go out and support women’s soccer and our good friend Cat as she plays in your city.
While Cat was here on business, we were able to get some quality time - first, we hit up dinner and a little Monday Night Football at a midtown sportsbar named Clancy’s. Then on Tuesday night, Tracy and Cat celebrated the good news about DC by going out for a fun dinner - yep, you guessed it: TAO!

It’s so fun to be able to see people even mid-week on business trips (and of course on the weekends too!)
