Carolina on my Mind
I’m getting pretty excited.
You see, as much as I love living in the city (and I can honestly say that we’ve adjusted and are really loving it now), there’s something about heading back to the Old North State which fires me up.
So tomorrow morning around 5:00 am when I’m catching a cab to LaGuardia, I won’t be lamenting my early morning or the inevitable hassle of the airport. Because I’ll be looking forward to lunch at Sutton’s, kickoff of the UNC-Notre Dame game and, of course, a couple “crisp October nights”.
And it will be great to see familiar faces - of friends who live in the Triangle, my entire family, and several of my college roommates who are also making the trip to Chapel Hill for the big game.
I wrote this summer about the awesome group of guys who I lived with at the Overlook. We make it a point each year to get together for an event we call the Overlook Cup. As it turns out, I think at least 8 of us will be in the area this weekend - a bit of an Overlook Cup Lite if you will.

Sadly, Tracy won’t be making the trip, and I know that she’s more than a little bit jealous. But don’t feel too badly for her just yet - she’ll be having five of her best girl friends up for a bit of a reunion of their own. So she won’t be in Carolina - but Carolina friends will be coming to her - which is the next best thing!
Needless to say, it should be a big weekend on all fronts. We look forward to sharing the highlights over the next few days.
