Jensen is 3!

This is a day late but my tardiness shouldn’t be misconstrued as a slight against the lady of the day.  That young lady is a year older as of yesterday, when our niece Jensen turned 3.

I remember distinctly the day Jensen was born…I was sitting at my desk at work when I got a call from my brother-in-law Jason.  I was expecting him to tell me that Jennifer was in labor and the baby was soon to come.  Instead, he simply said, “You’re an uncle again!”

It turns out Jensen was in a rush to get to the world, with Jennifer making it to the hospital but not having to wait much longer before delivering.  I guess it’s appropriate that Jensen entered the world with such swiftness - today she is whirling dervish at times, bouncing around with seemingly endless energy.  ’

It’s this energy that allows her to hold her own with her brother who is 2 years the elder.  I love the fact that Jensen will run around the house playing “football” and insist on getting to tackle.  And the best part?  She’ll often do this while attempting to wear Disney princess dress up shoes and her Hello Kitty purse.  Fashionable aggression for sure!

It’s been a joy to see Jensen grow up these last 3 years.  I often wondered before Jensen was born how it would be possible to love a 2nd niece/nephew as much as we loved Jacob.  But as any parent/uncle/aunt/grandparent will tell you, it just happens, in such a perfect way.  And that amazing smile helps too.

Happy Birthday Jensen!
