A lot can happen in 6,666 days
Exactly 6,666 days ago, a scared (but tall) 9-year old girl stepped foot into Mrs. Nelson’s 3rd grade class for the first time. It was January 1991, and young Tracy Miller was the new girl in a new place with new faces staring back at her and she knew only that all this newness didn’t really feel so great. In the back of the cozy classroom, a young boy, in seeing his towering new comrade, engaged her in the way only a young boy can:
“Are you the new student teacher?”
Consider our scared little newcomer unimpressed.
Let’s fast forward about nine years and we see the same two characters, but much has changed. They now see eye to eye physically - for he finally caught up in height - but also much more so figuratively in the way they look at the world. Somewhere in the midst of long talks about algebra, relationships and everything in between, these two had become the best of best friends.
It was this fact, that they were best friends first, which followed them over the next few years as they navigated the path of their relationship through college. There were ups and downs along the way, but in the end, our two characters left school the same way they started: together.
Wedding bells chimed a year later, and the two began living out in real time the hopes and dreams of which they had spoken for so many years. Real life never bears quite the same resemblance as our imaginations. In many ways it’s much better, as the blur of emotions and events in the four years since the exchange of vows can attest. You see, in the four years since that day much has changed, but two important things remain the same:
Best friends. Together.

From the little boy who’s grown up but still a little snarky, to the little girl who actually did grow up into a school teacher:
Happy Anniversary and I love you.
Can’t wait for the next 6,666 days, and beyond!
